...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of Central and South Central Kansas, including
the following counties, in Central Kansas, Chase and Marion. In
South Central Kansas, Butler.
* WHEN...Until 945 PM CDT Tuesday.
* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 341 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported heavy rain
in the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly. Between 4 and 5 inches of rain
have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are possible in
the warned area.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Peabody, Cottonwood Falls, Whitewater, Strong City, Florence,
Potwin, Elbing, Burns, Cassoday, Bazaar, Elmdale, Matfield
Green, Cedar Point, Wonsevu, Tallgrass Prairie Preserve,
Tallgrass Prairie and Saffordville.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two
feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't
drown.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE...Cottonwood River near Florence.
* WHEN...Until early Thursday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 27.0 feet, Flooding is sufficiently extensive to
reach driveways of property within 1.0 mile of the gage site.
Expect extensive cropland and field flooding.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:15 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 21.6 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this afternoon to a crest of 26.1 feet tomorrow morning.
It will then fall below flood stage early Thursday morning.
- Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
