It's time to gather your neighbors and prepare for our annual National Night Out Campaign!

Historically, the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) observes National Night Out on two proposed days, the 1st Tuesday in August or the 1st Tuesday in October. 

This year, the City of Fairfield will join our neighboring cities in celebrating National Night Out on Tuesday, October 7, from 5-8 pm.  

National Night Out is an Annual Community-Building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships AND neighborhood camaraderie. NNO is designed to strengthen neighborhood spirit and heighten crime prevention awareness through programs such as Neighborhood Watch.

On Tuesday, October 7, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, residents are encouraged to participate in National Night Out 2025 alongside the entire City of Fairfield. Neighborhoods throughout Fairfield will host a range of events, from intimate potlucks and barbecues to larger block parties. Creative activities such as ice cream socials and games are also encouraged.

During this “night out against crime”, discuss current crime and safety information with your neighbors over a plate of delicious food, and invite the police and fire department to join in on the conversation. Disaster preparedness, neighborhood clean-ups, and beautification are all topics you can bring to the table. It’s up to you- be creative, have fun, and Celebrate Your Neighborhood!

Before you ask, we know…we know, “Why the change?”

Yes, this year, many of our sister cities are hosting National Night Out in October.  And while coordination is cool, so is October weather! It also gives the kiddos a little more time to get settled into the school year. 

With that said, we’ll see you soon (just a little later than usual)!
