Traffic Stop Leads to the Arrest of Two Suspects Who Were in Possession of Burglary Tools and a Catalytic Converter


DATE/TIME: May 31, 2025 / 2:55 A.M.

LOCATION: 10000 Block of Foothill Boulevard, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Frankie Johnny Hernandez, Age 35, Resident of Pomona
Monica Martinez Rodriguez, Age 35, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga

VICTIM(S): Confidential


SUMMARY: On Saturday, May 31, 2025, at approximately 2:55 A.M., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station responded to a call regarding a vehicle burglary in progress at the location. 

Deputies arrived on scene and observed two subjects who matched the suspect description enter a Grey Acura and flee the location. Deputies initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle, and contacted the suspects, later identified as Frankie Johnny Hernandez and Monica Martinez Rodriguez. 

Inside the vehicle, in plain sight, deputies saw a catalytic converter, a Saw Zaw, a jack and large wire cutters. Through investigation, the passenger, Rodriguez, was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Deputies also learned the suspects were identified as the two subjects observed underneath a vehicle attempting to cut its catalytic converter. 

Hernandez was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC664/487-Attempted Grand Theft, PC182(A)(1)- Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and PC466-Possession of Burglary Tools. Rodriguez was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC664/487- Attempted Grand Theft, HS11364(A)- Possession of Unlawful Paraphernalia, HS11377(A)-Possession of a Controlled Substance, and PC182(A)(1)- Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
