Trail Closure: Monday & Tuesday
Trail Closure Scheduled in Ely for Maintenance Work
The City of Ely will be temporarily closing a section of the Cedar Valley Nature Trail on Monday, June 10, and Tuesday, June 11, to allow for essential maintenance work, including crack sealing and seal coating.
The closure will affect the trail segment between State Street on the north end of Ely and Dows Street. During this time, the trail will be completely closed to all users. There will be no access or ability to bypass the work area, including dismounting and walking around.
To ensure safety and support the contractor’s ability to complete the work efficiently, the public is asked to adjust their routes accordingly. Trail users are encouraged to begin their ride from the Hoover Park Pavilion, located just north of Ely, or to head south toward Solon to access other portions of the trail.
The City asks that cyclists do not use State Street as a detour or bypass route during the closure period.
Weather permitting, the work will be completed within the two-day timeframe. The City of Ely will notify the public as soon as the trail has been re-opened for regular use.
