Vehicle versus pedestrian accident in Fort Branch UPDATE 
On June 4, 2025, at approximately 2:38 p.m. Gibson County Central Dispatch received a 911 report of a vehicle versus pedestrian accident near the intersection of Locust and Walters Street in Fort Branch, Indiana. Emergency service personnel arrived on scene at 2:43 p.m. and began an investigation into the incident. During the investigation it was determined that a Red 2006 Chevy Cobalt had struck a pedestrian traveling on a scooter that was in the roadway. Gibson County Medic 4 called for a medical transport helicopter to transport the pedestrian to an area hospital for treatment. During the investigation it was discovered that 30-year-old Jon Roeder of Fort Branch was operating the Chevy Cobalt while his operating license was suspended on a prior conviction. Ultimately Mr. Roeder was transported to Deaconess Gibson to get a blood drawl and be medically cleared before he was transported to the Gibson County Detention Center. Upon arriving at the detention center Mr. Roeder was charged with Driving While Suspended/Prior.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
