The Middlesex Borough Police Department would like to make residents and motorists aware that they should expect delays tomorrow, Friday, June 6^th, 2025, between the hours of 1pm and 2:30pm on NJS 28 (Bound Brook Road/Union Avenue).

Law Enforcement Officers across the state of NJ will be taking part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run to benefit the Special Olympics of New Jersey. Officers from Middlesex Borough and Piscataway will receive the torch from Dunellen Officers in the early afternoon, approximately 1-2pm. The torch will be carried on Rt. 28 westbound, where it will then be passed off to Bound Brook Officers and Law Enforcement personnel from across Somerset County.  The torch will be carried all the way to TCNJ for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics!

We remind motorists that they should expect delays or plan an alternate route. Spectators who wish to support the runners and SONJ are invited to line Rt. 28 and cheer from a safe location!
