Screwworm Public Educational Webinar using Zoom for Producers and Local Stakeholders – being held on June 9 | 2:00 – 4:30 PM

At Home Viewing - This will be offered across the state via Zoom and people can register using the  registration link available via: http://tx.ag/NWSwebinar that will allow folks to register for the live webinar and to get the direct link for the Zoom.  Attached is a flyer with this information.

Local Live County Viewing - Additionally we would like to encourage Agents to host a local live viewing of the same Zoom Meeting in your county for farmers, ranchers, veterinarians, elected officials, and other interested residents. This is a great way to bring your community together around a timely and important topic.  For these events we encourage you to invite Veterinarians to attend, and we are working to secure continuing education (CEU) credit for those veterinarians who do.  For these Local Live Viewings events only, you may also offer Pesticide Applicator CEUs.  According to Don Renchie – “We suggest each CEA who participates provides up to 2 CEUs for the 2 hour activity.  Each CEA would use their individual County Code to offer 1 General CEU and 1 IPM CEU at each session. Participants in Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Swiger’s programs would receive 1 General CEU for discussing the NWS biology, life cycle and identification.  Participants in Dr. Hairgrove, Mr. Terry Hensley and the TPW designee would receive 1 IPM CEU, as their programs address prevention (surveillance and monitoring for livestock and wildlife), control and management practices (ex. use of expanded livestock quarantine dipping practices…) and public health implications (utilizing the same practices indicated for livestock and wildlife – monitoring, prevention, and mitigation measures…).” County Extension offices will be responsible for managing these CEU and presenting certificates at their level.
