* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of South Central Kansas, including the following counties, Cowley, Harper and Sumner.

* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, urban areas, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is likely.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 204 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms over far southern Kansas. 1 to 3 inches has already fallen since yesterday evening, with an additional inch or two possible the rest of the night. This will aggravate ongoing flooding concerns. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... Arkansas City, Winfield, Anthony, Caldwell, South Haven, Dexter, Geuda Springs, Hunnewell, Bluff City, Waldron, Freeport, Perth, Strother Field Airport, Maple City and Corwin.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COWLEY, KS ... HARPER, KS ... SUMNER, KS

Instructions:

Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown.
