Water Conservation Advisory – City of Rensselaer and Town of East Greenbush
Due to ongoing water maintenance activities at the Cross Street Pump Station in Troy and necessary repairs to the Pump Station’s main water valves, the City of Rensselaer and the Town of East Greenbush will continue to operate under a water conservation advisory until further notice.
Jointly, the City of Rensselaer and Town of East Greenbush are monitoring the water levels continually throughout each day. At this time, households should reduce usage. Residents should limit use of their dishwashers and laundry throughout the next week. We have discussed with the Fire Chiefs the emergency use of hydrants throughout both the City and the Town during this time. During this advisory, use of water for filling pools, hot tubs, lawn sprinklers and hoses should not be considered.
Due to the fact that we are currently operating our auxiliary pump (our back-up) while the three (3) main pumps are replaced and the pipes within the station. This advisory is anticipated to remain in place through the completion date the week of June 16th. The situation will be reviewed and discussed daily between the City and the Town until the pump replacement and pipework is complete.
Please note: There is no boil water advisory in effect.
We will provide updates as conditions change. This advisory will remain in place through June 16th.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.
