Evacuation Routes and Refuge Points

As we enter the summer months, please review and save a copy of the Bear Valley Springs Evacuation Routes and Refuge Points.

Bear Valley has three evacuation routes: through the main gate, on Deertrail Drive, and on Skyline Drive. The Deertrail and Skyline evacuation routes cross private land and have locked gates. When those routes are activated by emergency services, a code for those locks will be sent to the community via Nixle (https://www.bvcsd.org/nixle) as well as our website, social media, and the Emergency Radio Team (https://www.bvcsd.org/posts/disaster-preparedness-the-bvs-emergency-radio-team).

Those routes are marked with "Evacuation Route" signage to help guide residents. Please note that the Skyline evacuation route can handle trailers without too much difficulty, but trailers are not recommended on Deertrail. All routes are accessible to vehicles with two-wheel drive.

The Bear Valley Refuge Points are safe places within our community that can be used by residents until it is safe to return to their homes or until authorities facilitate an orderly evacuation outside the valley.

We thank you all for taking the time to review and save this information.
