Motor Vehicle Accident 
On June 8, 2025, at approximately 0600 hours, the Middle Township Police Department was dispatched to State Highway 47 North in the Goshen section of Middle Township for a report of a one (1) vehicle motor vehicle accident with entrapment. A preliminary investigation determined a Toyota Camry was traveling northbound on State Highway 47 North when the vehicle lost control and struck a tree.
As a result of the motor vehicle accident, the driver, Javier Ayala (52) of Wildwood, New Jersey was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger, a 52-year-old-female, was extricated from the vehicle and transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-Mainland for further treatment.
State Highway 47 was closed for approximately 4 hours. The motor vehicle accident is still being investigated by the Middle Township Major Crimes Unit, and the Middle Township Accident Crash Unit.
Also assisting in the motor vehicle accident were the Cape May County Prosecutor’s Office, Goshen Fire Department, Cape May Court House Fire Department, New Jersey Department of Transportation and AtlantiCare Emergency Medical Services.
