Flash Flood Warning until 09:30PM

FFWABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Guadalupe County in east central New Mexico... West Central Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 930 PM MDT.

* At 805 PM MDT, the public reported thunderstorms producing heavy rain along Highway 156 east of Santa Rosa and due south from Montoya. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Newkirk. This includes Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 300 and 309.

* AFFECTED AREAS: GUADALUPE, NM ... QUAY, NM

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
