Severe Thunderstorm Warning until 09:00PM

SVRABQ The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Curry County in east central New Mexico... Southeastern Quay County in east central New Mexico...

* Until 900 PM MDT.

* At 813 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 10 miles southwest of Ute Lake State Park to near Ranchvale, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained spotters reported At 7:25pm a spotter reported a 5 inch tree branch snapped near House, NM. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Clovis, Tucumcari, Logan, San Jon, Grady, Wheatland, Broadview, Bellview, Ranchvale and Ute Lake State Park. This includes the following highways... Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 329 and 373. State Road 104 between Mile Markers 99 and 105.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CURRY, NM ... QUAY, NM

Instructions:

Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms have produced widespread damaging winds and are capable of producing large hail. Wind damage with these storms will occur before any rain or lightning. Do not wait for the sound of thunder before taking cover. Seek shelter immediately inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows.
