Wilmington Police have arrested a wanted male juvenile on gun and drug charges.
On June 5, at approximately 6:15 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 800 block of West 7th Street, when they observed a 17-year-old male juvenile, who was wanted on an unrelated matter. Police made contact with the 17-year-old male juvenile and took him into custody without incident. The 17-year-old male juvenile was found to be in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun that had previously been reported stolen, and 5 grams of crack cocaine.
The 17-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding warrant:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 1 Quantity
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $38,000 cash-only bail.
