Traffic Stop Leads to Arrest for Carrying a Loaded Firearm in Public and Felon in Possession of a Firearm

LOCATION: Vineyard Ave / 9th Street, Rancho Cucamonga
SUSPECT(S): Felix Parker, Age 46, Resident of Rancho Cucamonga
VICTIM(S): State of California
SUMMARY: On Sunday, June 8, 2025, at approximately 10:06 p.m., deputies from the Rancho Cucamonga Sheriff’s Station initiated a traffic stop on a Chevrolet Impala for California vehicle code violations.
Deputies contacted the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, later identified as Felix Parker. During the investigation, deputies learned the vehicle's registration was expired for more than six months, and they intended to tow the vehicle. Parker refused to exit the vehicle, put the vehicle in drive, and led deputies on a short pursuit.
The vehicle ultimately yielded, and deputies successfully took Parker into custody. Deputies recovered a black handgun that was thrown from the vehicle during the pursuit.
Parker was arrested and booked at the West Valley Detention Center for PC25850(A)- Carry a loaded firearm and PC29800(A)(1)- Felon in possession of a firearm.
