Search Warrant Leads to Recovery of Stolen Property, Firearms and Arrests, West Point

On June 6, 2025, the Calaveras County Investigations Unit served a search warrant in the 1000 block of Main Street in West Point, CA, as part of an ongoing investigation into multiple burglary cases in West Point and Mountain Ranch. While searching the residence, detectives recovered numerous items confirmed to be stolen. Most of the stolen property was connected to multiple burglaries that occurred between February and May 2025 in West Point and Mountain Ranch. However, one of the firearms recovered had been stolen during a residential burglary in Murphys in 2015.
Suspects Nicholas Harley Caspary, age 36, and Tonya Elaine Rogers, age 46, both of West Point, were contacted during the search warrant and placed under arrest.  They were transported to the Calaveras County Jail and charged with possession of stolen property, prohibited persons in possession of firearms, prohibited persons in possession of ammunition, possession of a controlled substance, and controlled substance paraphernalia.
In the coming weeks, detectives will continue investigating the suspects and their potential connection to other theft reports. Additionally, they will work with the District Attorney’s Office to contact victims and, when possible, return property to them.
