As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Newark Police Department would like to remind the community about fireworks regulations in our city.
 

• Only “Safe & Sane” fireworks, approved by the California State Marshal and bearing the official seal are allowed in Newark.

 

• “Dangerous” fireworks (including those that explode, shoot in the air, or move uncontrollably) are illegal under Newark Municipal Code 15.17.050 and CA Health & Safety Code 12677.
