Residents and Visitors,

As our community gathers to celebrate the tradition of St. Anthony’s Feast, the Hawthorne Police Department Traffic Bureau kindly reminds all attendees to prioritize safety and courtesy throughout the event.

With increased traffic and a high volume of pedestrians in a concentrated area, your cooperation is essential in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

For Pedestrians:

• Use Crosswalks: Please cross only at designated crosswalks. This helps maintain order and ensures you are visible to drivers.
   

For Drivers:

• Be Patient and Alert: Expect delays and be prepared to stop frequently for crossing pedestrians.
   

• Avoid Distractions: Refrain from texting, calling, or other distractions while driving near the event.
   

• Approach Crosswalks Carefully: Always yield to pedestrians and be ready to stop when approaching a crosswalk.
   

Follow Police Instructions:

• Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic flow and pedestrian safety. Your cooperation with their directions is greatly appreciated.
   

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Safety:

• Use the Curbside Only: Always drop off or pick up passengers from the passenger-side curb.
   

• Avoid Street-Side Exits: For everyone’s safety, never allow passengers to enter or exit from the driver’s side of the vehicle.
