         One arrested for assault with a Firearm

Sheriff Clint Roach announces that on June 11th, 2025, at approximately 1030 hours, deputies of the Cass County Sheriff’s Office (MI) responded to the 25000 block of Morton St, for a man with a gun threatening a family member. This suspect also threatened to burn down a residence with the occupants were still inside. When deputies arrived on scene, they arrested a 52 yr old male and ensured all occupants were safe. A search of the residence was conducted, and deputies located a firearm described by the victim. The suspect was arrested for felony firearm, domestic violence and felonious assault. The suspect’s name is being withheld pending arraignment on the charges in the 4th District Court. The investigation is still ongoing.  Agencies assisting with the investigation were the Dowagiac Police Department, Pokagon Tribal Police Department, and K-9 Sitka.
