Crime Bulletin Covering the Week of June 2–8, 2025

When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.  
  
 
Robberies
 
There were two robberies during the past week.
 
On Wednesday, 06-04-25, at approximately 6:40 a.m., a suspect entered Safeway at the Westlake Shopping Center and took a rotisserie chicken. A security guard stated that when the suspect walked through the self-checkout area, he asked the suspect to pay for the chicken. The suspect walked past the area, returned, verbally threatened the security guard, and then left. On Thursday, 06-05-25, at approximately 1:21 p.m., the suspect was seen exiting Walgreens at the Westlake Shopping Center and arrested. The suspect was found in possession of a plastic bag containing a white crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine, located in the left chest jacket pocket. The suspect also had a glass pipe inside his satchel. The suspect, a 20-year-old Daly City resident, was booked into jail for robbery, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of unlawful paraphernalia.
 
On Saturday, 06-07-25, between approximately 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m., on the 6100 block of Mission Street, a victim was walking home after going to the store when he was pushed to the ground by suspect(s) wearing ski masks, after they called out his name. The victim struck his head on the corner of the stairwell, causing a major laceration. During the altercation, the suspect(s) took the victim’s gold necklace and pendant. This investigation is ongoing.
 
 
Residential Burglaries
 
There were no residential burglaries during the past week.
 

Commercial Burglaries
 
There was one commercial burglary during the past week.
 
On Tuesday, 06-03-25, between approximately 9:02 p.m. and 9:20 p.m., Total Wine & More, located on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard, was the victim of burglary and grand theft when three suspects stole high-end alcohol and left without paying. The first suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male in his late 50s or early 60s, with a stocky build, white and gray hair and beard, wearing a black coat, black button-up shirt, black pants, and black shoes. The second suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male in his mid-to-late 30s or 40s, with an average to stocky build and a brown beard, wearing a black baseball hat, black button-up shirt, blue jeans, and black and white shoes. The third suspect was described as a Middle Eastern male in his mid-to-late 30s or 40s, with a slender build, black hair and beard, wearing a white button-up shirt, light blue dress pants, black dress shoes, and carrying a light blue suit jacket. This investigation is ongoing.
 
 
Vehicle Burglaries   
 
There were five vehicle burglaries during the past week.
 

  • 200 block of Alta Vista Way—a backpack containing a wallet and gym equipment was taken from a 2025 Chevrolet Silverado. The front passenger side window was broken. Occurred on 06-02-25 between 4:00 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. **Online report.
 
  • Parking lot of Planet Fitness on the 2900 block of Junipero Serra Boulevard—nothing was taken from a 2007 Toyota Prius. The back and rear driver’s side windows were shattered. Occurred on 06-02-25 between 9:00 a.m. and 10:20 a.m.
 
  • 400 block of Southgate Avenue—nothing was taken from a 2019 Ford Transit. The rear door locking device was cut off and the van doors were unlocked. Occurred on 06-03-25 between 3:58 a.m. and 4:02 a.m. **Online report.
 
  • 1400 block of Southgate Avenue—jewelry and a suitcase with shoes were taken from a 2014 Toyota Corolla. It is unknown how the suspect broke into the locked vehicle. Occurred between 5:30 p.m. on 06-03-25 and 5:45 a.m. on 06-04-25. On 06-07-25, the suspect, a 46-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into jail for vehicle burglary.
 
  • 200 block of Bellevue Avenue—nothing was taken from a 2024 Toyota Highlander. A window was broken. Occurred on 06-04-25 between 5:11 a.m. and 5:35 a.m. **Online report.
 
 
Stolen Vehicles 
 
There were three stolen vehicles during the past week. No vehicles were recovered.
 
  • Pueblo Street and Geneva Avenue—a theft of a 2019 Honda Accord. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on 06-02-25 and 5:00 a.m. on 06-03-25.
 
  • Wyandotte Avenue and Hoffman Street—a theft of a 2020 Toyota Camry. Occurred on 06-08-25 between 12:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
 
  • 300 block of Eastmoor Avenue—a theft of a 2022 Kia Sportage. Occurred between 8:30 p.m. on 06-08-25 and 5:00 a.m. on 06-09-25.
 
 
Miscellaneous
 
  • There were 162 cases taken.
 
  • There were 14 domestic disturbance cases reported.
 
  • There were 5 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
 
  • There were 6 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
 
  • There were 3 cases for public intoxication.
 
  • There were 0 hit-and-run collisions reported.
 
  • There were 7 narcotics-related cases taken.
 
 
Community Events/Information
 
Free Compost Giveaway
 
The City of Daly City is partnering with its waste hauler, Republic Services, to host free compost giveaway events. Compost will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, while supplies last. Events will take place at the Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (153 Lake Merced Boulevard) from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the following dates:
 
            June 25-26, 2025
            September 24-25, 2025
            November 12-13, 2025
 
To participate in the compost giveaway, please bring a sturdy container, shovels, and gloves for this self-serve event. Residents must show proof of residency and are limited to five (5) 5-gallon buckets of compost per household. Events are weather permitting and will be canceled due to rain.

On Tuesday, July 8, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., join author, editor, and educator David Jacobson for an evening of interactive exploration of memoir writing, including prompts and exercises to help you in writing your life's story. Sandbags Available While Supplies Last
 
Sandbags are accessible 24/7 at two locations for residents with proof of residency:
- Department of Water & Wastewater Resources (parking lot) - 153 Lake Merced Blvd.  
- Department of Public Works (Corporation Yard entrance) - 798 Niantic Ave.  
Limit 10. Please take only what is needed as supplies are limited. When filling sandbags, fill them only halfway, so they are not too heavy to lift and will stack properly.
