INCIDENT: PC 261(a)(2)-Rape by Force/Fear, PC 422(a)-Criminal Threats, PC 29800(a)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 12022.1(a)-Commission of a Felony While out on Bail
LOCATION: Phelan, CA
SUSPECT(S): Daniel Chiaramonte, 34-year-old male resident of Phelan
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Friday, June 6, 2025, a deputy with the Victor Valley Station was assigned to investigate the rape of a 17-year-old female in Phelan.
Detectives with the Victor Valley Station responded and assumed the investigation. Through investigation, it was determined the suspect of the rape was Daniel Chiaramonte, a 34-year-old male resident of Phelan. Detectives learned that Chiaramonte was aware of the investigation and he fled to the Las Vegas area.
On June 9, 2025, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for Chiaramonte for PC 261(a)(2)-Rape by Force/Fear, PC 422(a)-Criminal Threats, PC 29800(a)(1)-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, and PC 12022.1(a)-Commission of a Felony While out on Bail.
On Thursday, June 12, 2025, with the assistance of Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Detail, Chiaramonte was arrested on the warrant mentioned above. Chiaramonte was booked at High Desert Detention Center and is being held without bail.
During the investigation, detectives learned that Chiaramonte had been convicted of similar crimes, and was currently on bail for a separate case with a similar crime. Detectives believe there may be more victims, and encourage all victims to contact Sheriff's Dispatch at (760) 956-5001.
