Flood Advisory until 10:00PM

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of central North Carolina, including the following counties, Edgecombe, Franklin, Halifax, Nash and Warren.

* WHEN...Until 1000 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways possible.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 805 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Roanoke Rapids, Louisburg, Warrenton, Halifax, Scotland Neck, Dortches, Littleton, Red Oak, Enfield, Weldon, Whitakers, Hobgood, Castalia, Macon, Centerville, Speed, Leggett, Glenview, Medoc Mountain State Park and Airlie. Also, Highway 301, and Interstate 95 north of Exit 121. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
