* WHEN...From 1 PM EDT this afternoon through this evening.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Flash flooding will be possible this afternoon and evening, mainly along and north and east of US-64 including the Triad, Triangle, Rocky Mount, Goldsboro, and Roanoke Rapids. Heavy rainfall in previous days has saturated the soils over a good portion of the region. Additional showers and thunderstorms this afternoon into the evening should produce areas of heavy rainfall.
