Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with a shooting incident that took place on Saturday.
 
On Saturday at approximately 1:32 p.m., police responded to the 300 block of North Franklin Street in reference to a shooting incident that occurred. Police located a 26-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in critical condition. Police also located a 35-year-old male gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
 
The case was assigned to Detective Justin Wilkers of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Wilkers identified a suspect vehicle. On Sunday morning, members of the Uniformed Services Division located that suspect vehicle and conducted a stop at 9^th and Madison Streets. Police took the driver of the vehicle, 27-year-old Yaphet White, into custody without incident.
 
White was identified as a suspect in connection with the shooting, and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun.
 
White has been charged with the following offenses:

• Attempted Murder (First Degree)
• Assault (First Degree)
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
