Pair Charged with Drug Possession
Detective Adam Burnette with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office Community Impact Team charged Marion residents Jennifer Lea Edwards, 50, and Michael Art McCurry, 62, with the following (each):
- Felony Possession of Methamphetamine.
- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (up to ½ oz.)
- Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Both Edwards and McCurry received secured bonds in the amount of $2,500 each.
On Friday, June 6, Det. Burnette initiated a traffic stop on an SUV for excessive speed. McCurry, who was driving, was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license.
A subsequent search of the vehicle yielded a suspected amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
