Felony Possession of Controlled Substance – Driving Under the Influence – Obstructing Identification
On May 5th, 10:25 p.m., During a taffic stop on State Route 158, Millstadt Police arrested a female on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, and driving under the influence. The Smithton Police Department assisted with this incident. Approximately one month later, the police department was notified the person arrested had falsely identified herself as someone else. An investigation ensued and the true identity of the suspect was discovered. On June 12th the suspect surrendered herself to Millstadt Police.
On June 13th the St. Clair County State’s Attorney’s Office charged the defendant, Bridget R. Mascroft age 41of Belleville, with the following:
Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) - A Class 4 Criminal Felony
Driving Under the Influence – Drug (Methamphetamine) – A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor
Obstructing Identification – A Class A Criminal Misdemeanor
