Last night (6/16), Novato Police Officers investigated a theft of a Hyundai Tucson from Marin Valley Drive, which occurred earlier on Monday morning. Around 11:30PM, CHP located the vehicle driving North on Highway 101 near the Nave Drive off-ramp and attempted to make a traffic stop. The vehicle exited Nave Drive and continued driving to the parking lot of Hamilton School. The driver was the only occupant in the vehicle and ran from the vehicle, north across the sports fields at Hamilton School towards Martin Drive.
 
CHP and Novato Police initiated a search for the driver. A CHP helicopter was called to assist with locating the suspect. After an extensive search of the area, the suspect was not located. We would like to thank our partners at CHP Marin and CHP Golden Gate Air Operations for their assistance in this case.
 
We are asking residents near Hamilton School and Martin Drive to check their surveillance cameras and contact us with any footage they may have of the suspect. He is described as a Hispanic Male in his late teens or early 20’s with a mustache, black hoodie, white undershirt, and white shoes.
