Youth Leadership Academy – Class #002
June 2–7, 2025
The Youth Leadership Academy, launched in 2024, is designed to teach high school-aged youth leadership principles through the lens of police tactics and teamwork. Now in its second year, the 2025 session welcomed 19 students who participated in a transformative six-day program focused on leadership, community service, physical fitness, and building lasting relationships.
Despite the challenges of summer work schedules and extracurricular commitments, participants made time to engage fully in the experience. The Academy, primarily instructed by School Resource Officers from local high schools—Corporal Ja. Johnson, Corporal Cartwright, and Corporal Bowman—provided students with the opportunity to bond with mentors, learn valuable life skills, and forge lasting friendships.

- Firearms Safety Education
- Ropes Course & Outdoor Challenges
- Rafting Adventure
- Community Service Project
- Final Field Training Exercise – Laser Tag Scenarios
Each activity was carefully chosen to promote teamwork, self-confidence, and leadership in a dynamic and engaging way.
