Dangerous weather approaching 
The National Weather Service has reported dangerous storms directly in the path of Tonkawa. The storms have high winds, rain and hail reported within. Please take your necessary safety precautions now. Seek shelter and make your plans to stay safe. The Tonkawa High school safe room is currently open to the public. If you haven’t already done, so please make plans to travel there now. The safe room is located at 500 E. North Ave. in Tonkawa Oklahoma. Police officers are present at the safe room. No animals allowed in the safe room. No exceptions. Due to this potentially destructive weather, be prepared to possibly lose power. Information will still be transmitted through this Nixle alert system and the Tonkawa Emergency Management Facebook Page.
