Wilmington Police have arrested a man in connection with a 2023 fatal shooting incident following an investigation.
On July 11, 2023, members of the Uniformed Services responded to the area of Pleasant and Harrison Streets, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a gunshot victim – 44-year-old Aaron Reid – who arrived to the hospital in critical condition, and later succumbed to his injuries.
The case was assigned to Detective Justin Kane of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Kane identified 33-year-old Dhron Goldsborough as a suspect. On June 9, 2025, the case was presented to the New Castle County Grand Jury, and an indictment was returned for Goldsborough. On June 14, 2025, members of the Uniformed Services Division took Goldsborough into custody without incident.
Goldsborough has been charged with the following offenses:
- Murder (First Degree)
- Attempted Murder (First Degree) – Two Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Three Counts
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Conspiracy (First Degree)
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $4,505,000 cash-only bail.
