Taxi stand to be relocated Monday; Register to be a volunteer coach
Taxi stand to be relocated Monday, June 23
Starting on Monday, June 23, the temporary taxi stand currently located on Newark Street will be relocated to the southwestern curb of Hudson Place, between Hudson Street and River Street.
The relocation is necessary to accommodate the continuation of the Water Main Replacement Project, which aims to upgrade outdated drinking water infrastructure, improve service reliability, and reduce the need for emergency repairs. It is also required to accommodate the Hoboken Connect project, which includes a number of public improvements such as construction of a new bus terminal on Hudson Place, the rehabilitation of the exterior and the first and second floors of the Ferry Terminal for commercial and exhibition space, the redevelopment of Warrington Plaza, and improvements to Hudson Place to support bicycle and pedestrian access. The taxi stand relocation is anticipated to be in effect until March 2026.
