Deputies in Chino Hills Respond to a Domestic Violence Incident and Arrest Suspect on Numerous Charges

INCIDENT: Criminal Threats - PC 422, Assault with a Deadly Weapon- PC 245, Possession of an Assault Rifle- PC 30605(a), and Domestic Violence- PC 273.5
LOCATION: 15200 block of Mariposa Avenue, Chino Hills, Ca. 91709
SUSPECT(S): Carlos Garcia-Thompson , 55-years of age, resident of Corona, California
VICTIM(S): Confidential
SUMMARY: On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at about 12:27 p.m.,a domestic violence and criminal threats occurred on the 15200 block of Mariposa Avenue. The suspect, Carlos Garcia-Thompson, argued with the victim and the argument escalated into a physical altercation. Garcia-Thompson assaulted the victim and threaten to kill her while holding a firearm. Garica-Thompson fled the scene in his vehicle.
During an area check, deputies located Garcia-Thompson driving a few blocks from the incident location. Deputies contacted and arrested Garica-Thompson without incident.
During a subsequent search, deputies located several firearms, one of which was an assault rifle. Garcia-Thompson was booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
