When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were three robberies during the past week.
On Monday, 06-09-25, at approximately 7:03 p.m., a suspect entered Jamba Juice at the Westlake Shopping Center and took cash. An employee stated that he was closing and cleaning the store when the suspect entered and approached him while holding a knife. The suspect demanded all the money from the safe. The employee instead gave the suspect cash from the register. While one officer was speaking with the employee, another officer located the suspect fleeing toward John Daly Boulevard. The suspect was later detained. The employee was transported to the location where the suspect was detained and positively identified him. The suspect was placed under arrest. A glass pipe and methamphetamine were found in the suspect’s possession. The suspect, a 36-year-old transient, was booked into jail for robbery, possession of unlawful paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, and outstanding warrants.
On Tuesday, 06-10-25, at approximately 6:08 a.m., on the 600 block of Villa Street, a victim had her cell phone forcefully taken by a known suspect. This investigation is ongoing.
On Thursday, 06-12-25, at approximately 8:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at the Serramonte Center on a report of a disturbance. An asset protection detective stated that the suspect selected multiple jackets and fragrance tester bottles and exited the store without paying. While loss prevention employees attempted to detain the suspect, the suspect punched the asset protection detective in the forehead. Upon the officer’s arrival, the suspect, a 43-year-old San Francisco resident, was arrested and booked into jail for robbery.

Have you signed up to receive these alerts? This alert is a free digital communication system used by emergency management agencies and first responders to send emergency alerts, notifications, and updates to portable digital devices. Nextdoor.com
Nextdoor.com is a free private social networking website for your neighborhood. This private network ensures that only those who live in your neighborhood can join; users must go through a verification process. Neighbors ask each other for business recommendations; help in locating missing pets; discuss relevant local government issues; or connect for other reasons. It is very easy to sign up. I like the fact that the site verifies users by addresses, and it won’t allow people to access a neighborhood if they don’t live there. Please note: The City of Daly City and/or the Police Department cannot see what residents post—we are only allowed to post information. There is also a mobile application, or you can have it sent to your e-mail. Give it a try! www.nextdoor.com
