Deputies in Rancho Cucamonga Pursue and Arrest Suspect After Stealing More than $1,000 in Store Merchandise

DATE/TIME: June 15, 2025 / 7:54 P.M.

INCIDENT: Commercial Burglary

LOCATION: Macy’s, 12501 South Mainstreet, Rancho Cucamonga

SUSPECT(S): Miguel Cruz-Hernandez, Age 43, Transient

VICTIM(S): Macy’s


SUMMARY: 
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, at 7:54 P.M., Rancho Cucamonga deputies responded to the report of a theft at the Men’s Macy's. The reporting party reported the suspect, Miguel Cruz-Hernandez left the store with over $1,000 worth of merchandise. Cruz-Hernandez got into a black pickup truck and drove away from the location without paying. 

Rancho Cucamonga deputies located the vehicle nearby. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, and Cruz-Hernandez failed to yield. As deputies pursued Cruz-Hernandez, he threw the stolen merchandise out of the vehicle and yielded on the I-15 Freeway. During a search of the vehicle, additional stolen items were located along with open containers of alcohol.

Cruz-Hernandez was arrested and booked into the West Valley Detention Center for PC459(1st)- Burglary 1st Degree, VC14601.1(a)- Driving: License Suspended, VC23152(a)- DUI Alcohol, and VC2800.1(b)- Intent to Evade a Peace Officer.
