...RED FLAG WARNING FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS NOON TO 9 PM FRIDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU AND WEST CENTRAL MOUNTAINS 11 AM TO 9 PM SATURDAY DUE TO STRONG WINDS, VERY LOW HUMIDITY, AND HIGH FIRE DANGER... .South to southwest winds will trend stronger Friday and Saturday afternoons, increasing the risk of rapid fire spread. Humidity recoveries have been consistently poor and will continue to be so leading into Friday and Saturday. Very low afternoon minimum humidity values of five to ten percent will further contribute to the rapid drying of fuels. Up to 12 hours of single digit humidity values are expected each day. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Red Flag Warning...which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Friday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening.
* AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101) Friday afternoon through Friday evening and again late Saturday morning through Saturday evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...5 to 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any ongoing or new fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
