Petaluma, CA – On Wednesday, June 18th, Petaluma Police Officers conducted a distracted driving enforcement operation as part of a grant-funded initiative through the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS).

-
? 4 citations for seatbelt violations
-
? 5 citations for speeding
-

The operation aims to reduce dangerous behaviors behind the wheel, especially distracted driving, which remains a leading cause of traffic collisions and injuries.
We know it’s easy to get distracted behind the wheel—life moves fast, and the phone is always buzzing—but even a moment of inattention can have serious consequences. Please keep the safety of yourself, your passengers, and our community members in mind every time you're behind the wheel.
Funding for this program was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
