* Risk for Severe Storms Later Today * Threat Time: Thursday 1:30 PM - 9:00 PM

As a potent system builds into the region from the west, we will be on the lookout for some stronger storms this afternoon and evening. Initially through the mid afternoon we contend with the risk for a pop up storm or two (one already forming over central NJ). Though as the bulk of the system nears the area, the risk for scattered storms and downpours increases in the late afternoon to sunset time frame. These bring an elevated risk for scattered instances of downed trees and consequential power outages, with the more numerous impacts potentially missing just off to our south. Thanks to the high humidity levels, storms will also be accompanied by torrential downpours, which can lead to brief areas of poor drainage and roadway ponding. Any lingering activity tapers off through the late evening.

FLOODING PROBLEMS
Road / Poor Drainage	Scattered	Storms will be accompanied by torrential downpours, leading to instances of poor drainage and roadway ponding.
Stream / Creek	Isolated	Heavy downpours will be relatively quick moving, limiting stream and creek flooding.
