The Leonia Police Department continues to receive complaints about gas powered leafblowers. This is a reminder that Leonia Borough Ordinance 262-2 prohibits the use of internal combustion leafblowers except for the following dates: March 15th to May 15th and October 15th to December 15th. We are asking again for your help with compliance with this ordinance. Residents and property owners can be held responsible for violations. If you use a landscaping company, please make sure that they are aware of the ordinance to avoid a summons.

Landscaping companies are required to register for an annual permit with the Leonia Borough Clerk. Registered landscaping companies are given a copy of the leafblower ordinance when they are issued their permit. As of today, only the following companies have registered with the Borough Clerk:
A&G Landscaping
ER Landscape
Vic's Landscape Contractors
Bar Harbor Landscapes
GH Landscaping
Eden Hill Landscaping
A and Son's Landscaping
The Blessing Landscaping
Bergen Landscaping
Agila C Services

If your landscaping company is not listed, please have them contact the Leonia Borough Clerk (201-592-5780 or [email protected]) to register for their permit. Registration helps us to educate landscapers on existing ordinances and to update them when there are changes. The registration fee is minimal ($35 for the year) and is waived for all companies that have already registered with the State.
