Narrative:
During the month of March 2025, detectives assigned to the Camarillo Special Enforcement Unit (SEU) began an investigation into a suspect who was in possession of an illegally owned firearm. The suspect was identified as City of Camarillo resident, (S) Logan Blade Secrease. As the investigation progressed, SEU Detectives learned Secrease was conspiring with another subject to purchase illegal firearms.

SEU Detectives subsequently identified the second suspect as City of Oxnard resident, (S) Jorge Herrera. Based on all evidence obtained through the duration of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to arrest both Secrease and Herrera for a violation of California Penal Code Section 27545 – [Unlawful Transfer of a Firearm] and California Penal Code Section 182(a)(1) – [Conspiracy to Commit a Crime]. SEU Detectives subsequently obtained a signed Ventura County search warrant for both Secrease and Herrera’s persons, residences, vehicles, and property.

On 06/18/2025, at approximately 0700 hours, detectives with SEU, the Camarillo Directed Enforcement Unit, and the Camarillo Investigations Bureau served the signed Ventura County search warrant at Herrera’s residence located in the 1700 Block of Alexander Street, Oxnard. During the service, Herrera attempted to flee but was quickly apprehended and taken into custody by detectives for a violation of California Penal Code Section 27545 and California Penal Code Section 148(a)(1) – [ Resist/Obstruct/Delay Peace Officer’s Investigation].

During a search of Herrera’s residence, evidence was located linking him to the illicit sales of firearms. Herrera was later transported and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

Shortly thereafter, detectives served the signed Ventura County search warrant at Secrease’s residence located in the 1200 block of Harris Avenue, Camarillo. Detectives contacted Secrease at the front door where he was taken into custody for a violation of California Penal Code Section 27545 and California Penal Code Section 182(a)(1).

During a search of Secrease’s residence, detectives located a Glock Style 9mm un-serialized pistol commonly referred to as a “ghost gun.” Detectives also located a 31 round Glock large-capacity magazine and an AR-15 upper receiver.

After the search, Secrease was additionally charged with a violation of California Penal Code Section 32310(a) – [ Possession of a Large Capacity Magazine].

Secrease was later transported and booked at the Ventura County Pre-Trial Detention Facility.

The term “Ghost Gun,” is used to describe firearms which lack serial numbers. Additionally, ghost guns can be transferred without the use of a federal firearms license dealer, which makes the firearms untraceable by law enforcement.
