Skagway Police Department and administration has been made aware of a large swell of fraudulent messages circulation in both email and text message form. Many of these are requesting payments in order to avoid penalties or punishments, the Municipality of Skagway does not send such notices in email nor text format.
Furthermore, the Municipality does not request wire transfers for any payments nor do they issue invoices for application fees. Official emails from the Municipality will always end in @Skagway.org. Any other domain (e.g., @usa.com) is illegitimate. Do not respond to any suspicious message(s) claiming to be from the Municipality.
