Victorville Deputies are Fired Upon as they Respond to 911 Calls

LOCATION: 13000 block of Amargosa Road, Victorville, CA
SUSPECT(S): David Gomez, 31-year-old resident of Victorville
VICTIM(S): San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy
SUMMARY:
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 1:55 a.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Victorville Station, responded to the 13000 block of Amargosa Road following multiple wireless 911 calls.
Upon arrival, deputies attempted to conduct a welfare check in response to a possible emergency. Without provocation, David Gomez used a firearm to fire multiple rounds at the responding deputies. Additional resources arrived, and Gomez was taken into custody without further incident. No deputies were struck by the gunfire.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Gomez was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center in Adelanto for violation of California Penal Code 664/187 – Attempted Murder with bail set at $1,000,000.
