Gloucester Township Police Media Release- Serious Crash Involving Parked Vehicle Under Investigation in Gloucester Township
On Saturday, June 21, 2025, at approximately 10:04 PM, officers from the Gloucester Township Police Department responded to a serious motor vehicle crash involving two vehicles near the intersection of Station Avenue and West Front Street in the Glendora section of the township.
Upon arrival, officers found that both vehicles had sustained significant damage. The crash involved a single-occupant vehicle that collided with an unoccupied, parked vehicle along Station Avenue. The force of the impact caused the moving vehicle to overturn with the driver still inside. Emergency aid was promptly provided by first responders from the Gloucester Township Police Department, Inspira Basic Life Support, Virtua Paramedics, the Gloucester Township Fire Department (Station 88), and the Runnemede Fire Department. The driver was safely extricated from the overturned vehicle and transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment.
A preliminary investigation by the Gloucester Township Police Department's Serious Crash Investigation Team (SCIT) determined that the vehicle was traveling on Station Avenue toward Evesham Road when it struck the parked vehicle and overturned. Due to the severity of the crash, Station Avenue was temporarily closed between West Front Street and Melvin Avenue for several hours while investigators conducted a thorough on-scene investigation. The investigation remains active and ongoing. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed. The identity of the driver is being withheld pending further investigation and notification of family members.
The Gloucester Township Police Department reminds all motorists to stay alert, avoid distractions, and drive responsibly. Maintaining proper lane position, focusing on the road, and staying aware of parked vehicles are essential for preventing serious motor vehicle crashes. Safe driving protects everyone on the road.
