The Newark Police Department is releasing information about recent crime and police activity that has occurred within our community. 
 
MONDAY, JUNE 16, 2025:
 
7:12 AM Officers responded to a commercial burglary in progress near Overlake Pl & Fircrest St. A 42-year-old male was located on scene and arrested for burglary. He was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
8:19 AM Officer Quinonez investigated a vehicle burglary that occurred near Cedar Blvd & Mowry Ave. A lock toolbox was forced open and loss of tools was reported.
 
4:09 PM Officer Lor investigated a residential burglary that occurred near Mayhews Landing Road & Newark Blvd.
 
7:43 PM Officer Cervantes responded to a disturbance reported near Dumbarton Court & Jarvis Ave and determined a commercial burglary had occurred. A cart containing cleaning supplies was reported taken.
 
8:34 PM Officer Dale investigated a report of a wallet that was taken from a vehicle near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd.
 
11:44 PM Officer Cervantes investigated a stolen vehicle reported near Thornton Ave & Cherry St. A 23-year-old female was observed seated in the vehicle and was arrested for fleeing from arrest, possession of a stolen vehicle and vehicle theft. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
TUESDAY, JUNE 17, 2025:
 
1:30 PM Officer Kim investigated an identity theft report near Balentine Dr & Newpark Mall Road. Upon investigation, a 45-year-old male was arrested for identity theft, forgery and vehicle theft.
 
4:32 PM Officer Orozco investigated a commercial burglary that occurred near Overlake Place & Fircrest Street.
 
11:22 PM Officer Dale investigated a license plate theft that occurred on Newpark Mall Road.
 
11:47 PM Officer Dale conducted a pedestrian stop near Central Ave & Filbert St. A 41-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics and violation of probation terms.
 
WEDNESDAY, JUNE 18, 2025:
 
1:19 AM Officer Lara investigated an attempted vehicle burglary that occurred on Newpark Mall Road.
 
3:08 AM Officer Lara conducted a pedestrian stop in the area of Cedar Blvd & Balentine Dr. A 30-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
3:52 AM Officer Dale was dispatched to a disturbance reported near Cedar Blvd & Mowry School Road. A 38-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
8:06 AM Officer C. Torres investigated a vehicle burglary reported near Balentine Dr & Mowry School Road. Reported loss included tools and industrial equipment.
 
8:19 AM Officer Medina investigated a residential burglary reported near Filbert St & Wells Ave. Reported loss included multiple construction tools.
 
8:27 AM Officer Diaz-Perez responded to a window smash vehicle burglary near Buena Vista & Potrero Drives. A bag containing gym equipment was taken from the vehicle.
 
9:13 AM Officers were dispatched to a disturbance reported near Cedar Blvd & Port Sailwood Dr. An intoxicated 24-year-old female was located with outstanding warrants. She was booked into Santa Rita Jail with additional charges for theft and trespassing.
 
10:15 AM Officers investigated reports of a vehicle theft and a vehicle burglary near Joaquin Murieta Ave & Cedar Blvd.
 
5:33 PM CSO Mora investigated a package theft reported near Seawind Way & Willow St.
 
7:50 PM Officer Orozco located a 30-year-old male with outstanding warrants while on patrol near Newark Blvd & Thornton Ave. He was arrested and booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
8:38 PM Officer Dale conducted a traffic stop near Sycamore St & Central Ave. A 20-year-old male was cited for speeding.
 
THURSDAY, JUNE 19, 2025:
 
6:25 AM Officer C. Torres responded to an audible alarm near Cedar Blvd & Central Ave and determined a commercial burglary had occurred. A cash register was taken from the location.
 
7:54 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a report of a package theft near Cedar Blvd & Mirabeau Dr.
 
9:58 AM Officer C. Torres investigated a commercial burglary that occurred near Mowry School Road & Balentine Dr.
 
9:21 PM CSO Mora investigated a license plate theft reported near Newark Blvd & Jarvis Ave.
 
FRIDAY, JUNE 20, 2025:
 
6:48 AM Officer Diaz-Perez investigated a window smash vehicle burglary near Mowry School Road & Cedar Blvd. No loss was reported.
 
3:11 PM CSO Mora investigated a license plate theft that occurred near Jarvis Ave & Haley St.
 
4:49 PM Officer Medina investigated a purse snatch reported near Jarvis Ave & Dumbarton Ct.
 
6:55 PM CSO Mora investigated a vehicle theft reported near Cedar Blvd & McDonald Ave.
 
SATURDAY, JUNE 21, 2025:
 
6:46 AM - 10:01 AM Officer Lor investigated window smash commercial burglaries that occurred near Newark Blvd & Cedar Blvd., and Mowry School Road. Reported loss included a cash register in both cases.
 
3:31 PM CSO Mora investigated a residential burglary near Edgewater Dr & Cedar Blvd.
 
SUNDAY, JUNE 22, 2025:
 
12:12 AM Officer Soto was dispatched to a vehicle collision near Haley St & Jarvis Ave. A 27-year-old male was arrested for driving while intoxicated and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
2:29 AM Officer Stevenson was dispatched to a collision reported near Cherry St & Smith Ave. A 22-year-old male was arrested for driving under the influence and was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
 
10:03 AM Officer Taylor investigated a vehicle theft that occurred near Cedar Blvd & McDonald Ave.
 
3:20 PM Officer Lor responded to a robbery reported near Thornton Ave & Cedar Blvd. A bicycle was reported taken.
 
6:21 PM CSO Vuong investigated a retail theft near Jarvis Ave & Newark Blvd.
 
9:52 PM Officer Stevenson investigated a vehicle burglary near Mowry Ave & Newpark Mall Road. Loss included contents of a wallet left inside the vehicle.
