SUBJECT: Bank Robbery Suspect Arrested
LOCATION: Chase Bank, 2300 Broadway, Redwood City
DATE/TIME: June 24, 2025, Approximately 2:29 P.M.
On June 24, 2025 a robbery occurred at the Chase Bank located at 2300 Broadway in Redwood City. A single suspect passed a note to a bank teller demanding money. Bank employees activated a silent alarm which led to a heavy law enforcement presence.
After committing the robbery, the suspect took a seat in the lounge area of the bank. The bank was evacuated and the suspect voluntarily exited the business. The suspect was detained and arrested without incident.
The suspect was identified as 66 year old Arthur Burton Gillespie. His last known address is from San Diego, CA. Gillespie was arrested for PC 211 -Robbery and it is anticipated he will be booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility.
