Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the shooting death of a male adult in South Gate. The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 11:10 p.m.
Officers from the South Gate Police Department responded to the 5800 block of Imperial Highway in the city of South Gate regarding a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim in front of a business who stated someone had tried to rob him and he shot them. Officers made entry into the business and located a male adult suspect suffering from gunshot wounds. The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded and pronounced the suspect deceased.
Homicide Bureau investigators are on scene and are assisting with the investigation. The victim is cooperating with investigators and being questioned. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic adult. No information about the suspect will be released until the notification of next of kin. Investigators believe there may be witnesses to the incident and are encouraging them to come forward and provide statements. Two firearms were recovered at the scene. The investigation is ongoing, and currently, there’s no additional information available at this time.
