INCIDENT TYPE: Motor Vehicle vs Motor Vehicle Fatal Crash

DETAILS: On June 25, 2025, at approximately 6:41AM, Officers were dispatched to SE 10th and Pierce on a major crash. Officers discovered that a blue 2019 Chevrolet Malibu had been traveling Eastbound on SE 10th, approaching Pierce St. A 2023 Blue Dodge Ram Pickup was traveling Southbound on Pierce, crossing SE 10th. The driver of the Malibu disregarded the red light at Pierce St. and crashed into the Dodge Ram. The driver of the Chevrolet, Orelvis Perez Rodriguez, male age 54, died at the scene because of injuries sustained in the crash. His family has been notified. The driver of the Dodge suffered minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. Potter County Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn was contacted and ordered an autopsy. Speed is a factor in this crash. The Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department is investigating the incident.
