SUSPECT(S): David Holguin, 18-years-old, Resident of San Bernardino
VICTIM(S): Cesar Pineda, 18-years-old, Resident of Redlands

Through continued and persistent investigation, detectives identified the suspect as David Holguin. Holguin is currently in custody in Imperial County on an unrelated case. When that case is completed, he will be brought to San Bernardino County on the murder charge.

SUMMARY: On Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at approximately 6:19 p.m., deputies with the Highland Station responded to a 911 call in the 26300 block of 9th Street, Highland. Deputies located the victim, Cesar Pineda, inside the location suffering from a gunshot wound. Deputies and emergency medical personnel rendered medical aid at the scene. Despite life-saving measures, Pineda was pronounced deceased.
Detectives with the Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded and are investigating. The identity of the suspect(s) remains unknown. Additional information will be released when it becomes available.
