Culver City Police Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect
Following Shooting Near Vigil

On Tuesday, June 24, 2025, at approximately 7:50 p.m., Culver City Police Officers responded to multiple reports of shots fired near Culver City High School, located in the 11000 block of Franklin Avenue. At the time, an estimated 200 to 300 people were gathered on the high school football field to attend a vigil for a student who had recently been murdered in Torrance. CCPD officers were already in the vicinity and arrived at the scene within two minutes.
Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a physical altercation occurred during the event, escalating to a shooting. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. Officers quickly secured the scene.
Detectives responded and initiated an extensive investigation. The suspect was identified, and after conducting surveillance, obtaining search warrants, and tracking multiple leads, the suspect was located in the area of 58th Street and Vermont Avenue in Los Angeles.
On the evening of Wednesday, June 25, detectives observed the suspect entering a vehicle driven by a 17-year-old female and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle on 6th Avenue in Los Angeles.
The driver was detained, and the suspect was taken into custody without incident. The suspect, a twenty-year-old male, was transported to the Culver City Police Department, where he was booked for Attempted Murder.
