Flash Flood Warning until 12:45AM Friday

FFWRLX The National Weather Service in Charleston has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for... East Central Kanawha County in central West Virginia... Southwestern Clay County in north central West Virginia... Central Fayette County in southeastern West Virginia... Southwestern Nicholas County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 1245 AM EDT.

* At 936 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Charleston, Summersville, Fayetteville, Oak Hill, Marmet, Ansted, Belle, Hawks Nest State Park, Coal Fork, Swiss, Bentree, Drennan, Indore, Pond Gap, Kesslers Cross Lanes, Mount Nebo, Muddlety and Canvas.

* AFFECTED AREAS: CLAY, WV ... FAYETTE, WV ... KANAWHA, WV ... NICHOLAS, WV

Instructions:

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
