Controlled Burn on Beachview Drive Near Tortuga Jacks 6/27 
Please be advised that on June 27, 2025, the Jekyll Island Authority will conduct a controlled burn on small patches of land on a small grassy area adjacent to the July 4th Independence Day Fireworks launch zone between Tortuga Jacks and The Sandbar Beach Pavilion.
This burn will take place from approximately 9:30 AM to 11 AM. It does not pose any threat to nearby structures or the beachfront.
Smoke visibility is anticipated to be brief and minimal in this area, but will be monitored throughout the burn.
No road closures are planned at this time.
All burn plans have been approved by Georgia Forestry and will be managed and monitored by the Jekyll Island Fire Department and the JIA Conservation team.
